Rio Bingo joined the party in 2014, using Dragonfish software. At the time of launch, the home page was awash with colour, instantly making the visitor feel like it had arrived at the Mardi Gras capital. A colourful macaw was once the ‘face’ of the site, but following changes in the regulations by the UKGC, he had to take a back seat.
What you see now when you visit the site is a plain blue background and whilst the logo has some of the colour that you’d expect to see at a Mardi Gras, it’s lost the fun factor to the design. Scroll down the page though, and you’ll find one remanent of the old design, a masquerade mask.
Luckily for players, the fun hasn’t been lost when you sign up to play and there’s plenty to keep you entertained by way of bingo and slots. By joining the party, they offer you ‘a fiesta of bingo’ all day, every day.

The party starts at Rio Bingo without you even having to make a deposit. The site offers you access for two days, from the point of registration to their Bingo Academy (if you deposit, access is extended to five days).
The Bingo Academy hosts 90 ball games every 15 minutes with prize pots of £1.75. All tickets in the room are free and you can claim six tickets per game as a new player to the site.
If you want the party to continue, then a £10 first deposit will see you rewarded with a 300% bonus worth up to £200 to use in the bingo rooms, plus you will also get 30 free spins to use on the Fruit Blast slot game.
The bonus cash carries wagering requirements of 2x the amount of deposit + bonus funds before you can withdraw your bonus and related wins.
Free spins are credited as a games bonus which is capped at £6 and comes with 30x wagering requirements.
When it comes to funding your account at Rio Bingo, you have the usual options that are found at most Dragonfish powered sites.
These options are:
- By telephone: 08082 387 546
- Debit cards
- Apple Pay – only using Apple devices
Although the minimum deposit amount is just £5, in order to receive the deposit bonuses that are available on your first, second and third transaction (and to receive the deposit deals), a minimum of £10 is required.
For withdrawals, the minimum amount is also £5.
At Rio Bingo there is a promotions section available from the landing page. This is split into three different sections and we have taken one example from each to give you a little taster of what you can expect by way of offers and deals from this brand.
- Bossa Nova Beat – Every Friday from 7 pm there are five games playing with a £1,000 prize pot per game. They play on the hour and are 75 ball games with 1TG and 2TG prizes. The prize structure varies in each game. You can only access the games if you have deposited on the site within the six days before the event and each player can claim six free tickets per game only.
- Welcome Offer – Add a minimum of £10 to the site and you will be treated to a 300% bonus and 30 free spins on first deposit.
- Saturday Salsa – On a Saturday at 10 pm a 90 ball game plays with a £3,000 prize pot. Tickets are 50p each and the prizes are one line for £650, two lines for £850, and the full house for £1,500.
For more details about the promotions on offer, visit the site directly.
Rio Bingo does not require the use of bonus codes to claim the deposit deals on offer. We could not find details of any listed on-site either.
It may be worthwhile to agree to receive marketing material from the brand because it may be that they send out bonus codes via your chosen contact method as part of a promotion.
Bingo and Slots Games
As soon as you enter the main site you are taken to the lobby and the default landing section is bingo. Here you will see a selection of bingo rooms listing details of what’s on offer in any particular room. The next game to start is listed first and the information shown includes the progressive jackpot value (if the room has one), the prize pot, the time until the next game begins, the game type, the number of players, and if a chat host is on duty, their name.
Rio Bingo is host to four different game variants and these are standard across the Dragonfish sites. You can choose to play 75 ball as pattern games or five-line games, 90 ball bingo, and 52-5 games.
In the bingo rooms you will find everything set out in an easy-to-use way. To the left of your screen are your ticket purchasing options, in the centre are your bingo tickets, and then to the right, your bingo chat room and the available mini-games.
Ticket prices start from as little as 0 for the free bingo games, but the highest value ticket at this site was just 25p when we visited to compile the review in May 2021.
To visit the slots area, simply click the name in the left-hand menu and then you can see all that the site has to offer by way of slots and instant win games. At the time of our visit, there were 290 different games to choose from, each from a variety of different software providers.
You have the choice of several different sections or you can opt to use the search function if you know the title that you are looking for.
The collection of slots available is not the most extensive we have seen in the world of online bingo, but it’s enough to complement the bingo offering. You can spin the reels of popular games like Jack & The Beanstalk, Temple of Isis, Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest, and many others.
There are several support options available to you if you need to contact the site. These are:
- Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Phone Number: 0808 238 7546 (UK) or +44 203 713 5122 (from outside the UK)
The chat hosts are also well-versed in the software and many of its features, so it may be that they will have the answer to any questions you may have.
Rio Bingo was launched originally by Mandalay Media/Intertain/Ignite, the company behind the big brand favourite, Costa Bingo. Whilst it sits under the Grand Battery Holdings hat now, we have listed its sister sites as those launched by the original owner.

Rio Bingo was established in 2014 and so far have yet to release a tv commercial. This is unlikely to change in the future, but if they do decide to advertise on tv we will post a link to the video in this section of our review.
Although Rio Bingo does very little to stand out from the crowd, we couldn’t award it any less than a 4-star rating. The reasons for this are that we love that you can get a taste for the bingo without making a deposit in the Bingo Academy, that they have many different jackpot games and other free bingo to choose from, and that they award a bonus on every deposit you make. Additionally, they focus on bingo rather than slots so we really enjoyed the party at this site!
