Glossy Bingo Review

Glossy Bingo

What are you expecting when you visit a site called Glossy Bingo? In our minds, we envisaged a design akin to a high-end fashion magazine like Vogue. That’s not what you will find; the homepage is dull and boring in comparison with many online today. However, it’s only the homepage and we shouldn’t judge this bingo book (magazine) by its cover.

The site launched in January 2013 and is part of the Broadway Gaming group. When it first opened to players, all of the bingo offered was powered by Microgaming. However, in April 2020 they announced that they were to close their bingo network. There was much speculation at this point as to what was to happen to the sites under the Broadway Gaming hat but players needn’t have worried, Pragmatic Play stepped in to pick up the proverbial baton.

Once we registered and got in on the action, things weren’t quite as dull as the homepage with plenty of choice for both bingo and slots. The new software provider has enhanced the bingo gaming experience for players, and with Microgaming at the helm for the slots, it appears to be a win-win situation for this brand.

Read on to find out if the shine wears off at Glossy Bingo as we take you through all the brand has to offer.

Welcome Offer

When you make your initial deposit at Glossy Bingo of at least £10 they will roll out their virtual red carpet by awarding you with a £20 bingo bonus and 200 free spins.

Sadly this bonus is only given if you fund your account successfully within two days of registration with the site.

Wagering Requirements

There are wagering requirements on the bonus that you are awarded as a new player to the site but these are far from extortionate. In fact, they are a little lower than you might expect at just 3x the amount of the bonus that you are given for bingo and 50x wagering for the free spins.

It is worth noting though that they cap your wagering on bingo tickets at £6.25 per game until the wagering requirements have been met.

Deposits and Withdrawals

Banking options are a little limited at Glossy Bingo in comparison to bingo sites on other software platforms, however, all of the major methods are available.

The options available to fund your account at this site are:

  • Debit cards
  • PayPal
  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • Rapid Transfer
  • Instant Payments

The minimum deposit amount allowed here is £10 and whilst they don’t list a minimum withdrawal amount, any cashouts under the value of £20 will be subject to a £2 withdrawal charge.

The promotions page at Glossy Bingo leaves a little to be desired because, whilst it highlights some of the bingo games and jackpots available, there is nothing shown that is more than we expected to find. We know that all sites have a selection of jackpot games, we know that most offer pre-buy games, and what we wanted to see was a little something to make the brand unique.

Below is just one example taken from the page at the time of the review:

Slot Sprints – Get to the top of the weekly leaderboard for your chance to win a share of free spins

Everything else on the page referenced pre-buying tickets or were telling you about specific bingo rooms rather than promotions.

Bonus Codes

Glossy Bingo bonus codes are not advertised anywhere around the site but we suspect, like many other brands online today, they use these as a marketing tool. For players, this means that if you have registered to receive news from the brand in any of the methods offered (SMS, Post, or email), then you may get a bonus code sent to you.

Should we be given any bonus codes for the site, all the details will be listed in this area of our review.

Bingo and Slots Choice

When you first enter the main arena of Glossy Bingo it’s great to see be greeted with the bingo rooms first and the slots lower down the page.

Bingo Choice

When Pragmatic Play took over the bingo offering at this site, they brought with them more variants of the game. Where previously the Microgaming bingo software was limited to just 75 and 90 ball, you now have the option to partake in a little Speed Bingo (30 ball) and Cashline or Shutterboard (80 ball) too.

From the lobby, you can see a few details of the rooms, and a scroll either way using the arrows will reveal more rooms. The information included about each room is the time until the next game players, the game variant (i.e. 75 ball, 90 ball, etc.), and the prize pot for the upcoming game.

In the rooms, the chat screen is to your left with mini-games below it. Your bingo tickets are at the centre of the screen.

Slots Choice

If you scroll down the page you will find the slots that the site has to offer and whilst there isn’t the widest of choices, you will find an impressive selection of titles from Microgaming and a few others including Eyecon.

As well as slots, you also have the options to play table games and a few video poker titles are on offer as well. Sic Bo and Baccarat are other casino games available and there are a few scratchcards to choose from.

Contact Support

To access the support options at Glossy Bingo you need to use the menu button just above your username. In the menu that appears you will see the Help Centre and the button for Live Chat.

The Help Centre sets offering out in sections; General, My Account, Deposit, Withdrawal, Account Verification, Offers and Promotions, Technical Issues, and Responsible Gambling. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for in this area, then you can contact support as follows:

TV Adverts

Glossy Bingo has never launched any TV adverts and given that they launched in 2013, it’s unlikely that they will do so anytime soon.

Should they opt to air a commercial on television in the future, details will be posted in this section of our review.

Review Summary

Glossy Bingo doesn’t quite have the ‘shine’ that we were expecting given its brand name and from the outset, we were disappointed. The welcome bonus, although not to be sniffed at, was a bit boring and outdated. A charge to withdraw anything under £20 was also a negative. But, there are some good points to the site including the lower than standard wagering requirements, the good game choice for bingo and a nice selection of slot games. Taking it all into consideration, we opted for a 3.5-star rating for this site.
